What We Do

The Federal Judicial Service Commission has several primary functions. These include making nominations for judicial appointments or the removal of current justices; appointing, dismissing or initiating disciplinary procedures for other officers of the court; conducting Confirmation Examinations for all newly employed officers on Grade Levels 06 and above; verifying the certificates of senior staff members and working with the office of the Head of Service of the Federal to ensure that all appointments, conversions and promotions are satisfactory. more

Changes Within the FJSC for 2010 After 42 years of diligent service, Justice Umaru Abdullahi retired from his position as President of the Court of Appeal. Taking his place is the most senior Justice from the court, Isa Ayo Salami. His appointment was unanimously confirmed by the Senate of Nigeria.
